Welcome to my new blog for Nancy’s Fancy Quilts. Hope you like what you like what you see. I’m 74 years old and have been married for 57 years and I have been addicted to quilting for 25 of those years. My great grandmother Ella made quilts using her designs she made on newspaper and then by using mostly men’s old suits which were given to her church, she fashioned quilts for the beds of her grandchildren to sleep under during the winter months in Michigan. My Uncle Lee told me that the quilts were never washed, they were hung out on the clothesline or in the trees and beat with a rug beater to remove the dust and dirt. Gramma Hubel was her name and she was very well loved by the Miller family.
